早在台灣就已經準備有機會一定要去old town一探究竟，來美國第一天，知道Luray Caverns這個世界知名的鐘乳石洞之後，就想著也要去這個地方看看，正好僑教中心盧主任跟楊副主任特意安排，讓我們一行20人可以在這天還有專車接送到Luray Caverns 跟 Old Town參訪，再一次，深深感受到台灣同胞的體貼跟溫馨!

It's a very nice day today. The weather was nice and windy, and the Metro was not crowd. Mr. Brown took us to National Gallery of Art and Natural History Museum. This was my third time to DC. With delighted mood, even the sun was smiling at me. When I saw Washington Monument from distant place, I told myself that I must visit this building today. And fortunately, I did it and took many cool pictures!     A very good day today with a very good mood. Enjoy the sunshine in DC.                             My favorite artists are Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. When I saw their paintings, I could help but just stand over there and watched for a long long time. Monet used many similar colors and spot them carefully and well mixed on the canvas. I can calm myself down and immerse in the drawings. But, when I watched Van Gogh's paintings, something mad, crazy and even ecstatic would be filled out me. I like Van Gogh's strokes. He always piled up the colors when he forgot himself in drawing. Then the paintings were just like statues that you could admire them in different ways.             We have the similar museum as Natural History Museum in Taiwan, which is called National Museum of Natural Science. So when I stepped into Natural History Museum and watched the fossils and specimens, the memories of my childhood came back as I was just a 12-year-old girl. I think the most interesting thing was that I could create my own face as Neanderthal woman. It's so ugly but so funny! I also saw the biggest diamond in the world--Hope Diamond, which is 45.52 carat. So sparkling and amazing. After the tourist of the museums, we went to Washington Monument. The sun was still shining in the sky. We took lots of great pictures though we could not take the elevator to the top of the monument.         What so sad was we were so tired out that we could not walk and visit Lincoln Memorial anymore. I must return here and visit other museums and great buildings for the next time.
結束在台灣的忙碌學習後，背起沈重的行囊，準備遠離家鄉橫度太平洋到另一個世界去。我們選擇在東京轉機，雖然停留時間不到24小時，倒也充份回味兩年前來這裡的記憶，也看到了日本在311海嘯後全國上下一心實行節電政策的效率，再次深刻感受到日本務實文化的另一面。 From Tokyo to Washington DC          抵達DC杜雷斯機場，感謝華僑文教中心盧主任跟楊副主任特別趕來接機，讓我們在幾乎24小時都未闔眼的情況下，不需提著20公斤的大行李在地鐵跟巴士之間奔波。 DC的公路、DC的交通、Virginia的清幽、GMU的美麗，今天一天，就飽覽了美國首府與小鎮的明媚風光。               在GMU，最近的超市需步行25分鐘，最便宜的餐點要美金5元，自製餐點就成了不可或缺的省錢祕笈之一。 利用手邊的食材如生菜、義大利麵、起司、火腿等等，這些在台灣少見的東西，超市裡一大堆，怎麼煮才能好吃、煮出來後有沒有人要吃，都是個很大的問題。還好我有很愛我的室友，大家像家人一樣一起分享一起開心，所謂"天堂的食物"都在大家的嘴邊出現，超有趣!!            |
